The Story of Telaga Waja River

The Telaga Waja River, located in eastern Bali, originates on the slopes of Mount Abang and flows through Rendang Village before reaching the sea in Klungkung Regency. As the second-longest river in Bali after the Ayung, it is fed by several sacred springs near Mount Agung, including Lipiang, Arca, and Telaga Waja springs, as well as smaller tributaries such as the Yeh Sah River.

This steady water supply supports both local needs and tourism activities, with rafting being one of the river’s most popular attractions. Flowing through a tropical rainforest climate, the river has an average temperature of around 24°C and an annual rainfall of approximately 2,123 mm, with January as the wettest month and September the driest.
